Consultation has concluded

The District of Squamish and the Resort Municipality of Whistler are working with the Community Energy Association to create a Home Energy Retrofit Strategy. This strategy includes upgrading a home’s envelope and/or its energy-consuming systems. These retrofits can reduce a home’s operational costs and improve occupant comfort, particularly in older homes.

Provincial estimates suggest that the business of home energy retrofits is a multi-billion dollar opportunity. An increasing number of residents are looking to access federal, provincial and utility incentive funding for energy efficiency retrofits when they renovate their homes . The District's goal is to make sure the contractors servicing our region are best positioned to engage in this opportunity.

We need to hear from local Squamish and Whistler:

  • Builders
  • Contractors
  • Energy advisors
  • Businesses or organizations that are involved in renovating existing homes

We want to hear about what training or education support local industry needs to do this work. Responses to the survey will help to prioritize training and industry support opportunities within our communities to ensure all contractors are ready and prepared to benefit.

The survey was open from December 2021-January 2022. It is now closed.

The sole purpose of this survey is to collect information from local contractor businesses. Please refrain from providing personal information other than your name.
