The District of Squamish is creating an age-friendly community plan!
Age-friendly communities allow for healthy, safe and equitable aging. An age-friendly community recognizes the needs of aging populations by removing physical and social barriers to inclusion. However, age-friendly communities also benefit all demographics and groups because safer, more inclusive planning and infrastructure is a win for everyone.
To help create our plan, the District of Squamish is reaching out to community members of all ages - especially seniors who are comfortable sharing their experiences. This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard and we hope you take the time to let us know your experience so we can improve our services for all people.
Ways to participate:
1) FILL OUT OUR SURVEY: Link is below. All information is confidential and anonymous but if you wish to be entered to win a prize, please include an email address. We estimate this survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete. Any feedback is appreciated.
2) VISIT A COMMUNITY POP-UP: We would also welcome your presence at a Farmer's Market pop-up on Saturday July 6 from 10-3. Come speak with key District of Squamish staff and community partners about your insights, concerns, ideas, and anything in between! When more pop-ups are scheduled, we will provide the information here.
3) SUBMIT COMMENTS: Fill out a comment form and put it in a box, located at The 55 and Westwinds.
