Overview
Hearing from the community is essential for District of Squamish to understand and respond to the values, perceptions, needs and desires of Squamish residents as the community continues to grow and change.
This is why the District is conducting a Citizen Satisfaction Survey to hear from a cross section of residents about how they are doing, and how the District is doing when it comes to our programs and services offered. This scientific and comprehensive survey, with both mail and digital options, will be sent to a random sample of residents across all Squamish neighbourhoods. The sample was generated so that each residence in Squamish has an equal opportunity for being selected for the research. This allows us to reach people who typically do not participate in surveys.
Discovery Research, an independent consulting firm, was retained to conduct the 2025 Squamish Citizen Survey. The survey was designed so that resident opinions could be easily summarized and prioritized.
If you did not receive a survey in the mail, we invite you to complete an online version here. The survey will take around 15 minutes to complete.
Residents are asked to rate their level of satisfaction with a variety of municipal services and programs. Survey results will help inform strategic planning and budget decisions, and will provide District Council and staff with knowledge of priorities that are pertinent to people in Squamish.
This survey will run periodically to establish benchmarks and generate comparable data so the District can measure its progress and how people are doing over time. The themes of the survey include overall quality of life and wellness, important community issues, District services, communications and public engagement, environment and sustainability, community priorities, and value for tax dollars.
How to participate
There are two options to participate in this survey:
- For residents who received a survey in the mail, please complete the paper survey and return it using the postage-paid envelope by May 12, 2025. We are offering an optional prize draw for one of three $150 gift certificates to a local business of your choice. If you wish to enter, use the QR code or URL at the bottom of your completed survey.
