Welcome to Let's Talk Squamish! We're glad you're here.
Public engagement is based on the principle that people should be able to have a say in the decisions that affect their lives. The District of Squamish recognizes the need for high-quality public engagement - not as a nice-to-have, but as a central component of how the District does business and delivers services to community members.
This site (letstalksquamish.ca) is the District's online home for public engagement - for residents to provide meaningful input into decision-making processes. Squamish is shaped by the people and the variation of perspectives in our community. Let's Talk Squamish provides an opportunity for residents to weigh in on topics that matter and co-create a positive space that allows us to work together so we can all contribute to our shared future.
This site does not replace the important conversations that we look forward to at in-person events. Instead it:
- Is a home for all public engagement projects that move beyond one-way communication and important information about opportunities to weigh in and help shape the future of our community.
- Offers anyone in Squamish an opportunity to participate, at anytime, when it's convenient for you - whether that be through surveys, polls, a live Q&A tool, a digital mapping tool, and so on.
- Shares information about in-person engagement events and registration details as they come up.
This site is regularly updated with new projects. Please register and join our mailing list to stay up-to-date on the projects that matter to you. Once you have registered, you can participate in all of the discussion forums, ask a question, share an idea, map your priorities, complete a survey, and more. It's a simple registration process and you only have to do it once.
We're looking forward to the conversation, Squamish!
