Project Snapshot

The District of Squamish is committed to a social procurement practice that seeks to leverage procurement activities to achieve positive social outcomes such as environmental, social, and economic benefits, including:

  • Transitioning to a circular economy (aligned with the District’s 2023 Circular Economy Roadmap)
  • Advancing economic reconciliation within the Memorandum of Understanding between Sḵwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw and the District of Squamish
  • Fostering inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility (IDEA) in the community

To support these goals, the District has engaged Buy Social Canada to conduct a project called Advance Social Procurement. The District has received a $410,038 grant to fund this project and the Labour Force Development Plan.

Part of the first phase of the project is a supplier survey which aims to identify suppliers who are already, or are interested in, selling to the District and contributing to these shared objectives.

How to Engage

We are seeking input from suppliers who are currently selling or interested in selling to the District. The survey below is open to owners and operators of businesses operating in Squamish. Your time and energy are appreciated!

If you have any questions or would like to request a copy of the survey as an accessible Word document, please contact Emma@buysocialcanada.com for support.

Survey deadline: October 2, 2026
