Have your say on which views should stay! As development occurs downtown, the District wants to preserve important views from main streets, street corners, public plazas and parks. Your input during this process will help to inform the District's first Viewscape Study. The Viewscape Study will determine which views from public places in Downtown Squamish should be preserved. In line with our Official Community Plan, the Viewscape Study will create policy to guide future development in downtown. This study will not include views from private properties.

Four ways to Participate

1. Take the Survey (10min):

The survey is now closed. It was open from August 11 - September 22, 2022.

2. Walking Tours (1.5hrs):

Bring your phone or camera and attend one of the public downtown walking tour dates. You’ll be guided through a walking tour of key locations downtown. At each location you will be encouraged to take photos of the views you want to preserve most (Don’t worry if you don't have a phone or camera, we will bring some extras). Tours will be guided by District Planning staff so you’ll also get an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about development downtown. Please register for the tour that fits your schedule best.

All walking tours are now complete. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

3. Site Specific Sessions (30min):
